WHAT YOU GET
A REAL TONE DIAGNOSIS — NOT GENERIC ADVICE
RipToneZ will personally listen to your recording and evaluate what may be holding your tone back.
Depending on the problem, your diagnosis may include recommendations for:
GAIN & DISTORTION — Too much gain, weak definition, compression or lack of attack
EQ & FREQUENCIES — Mud, fizz, harshness, boom, thinness or poor balance
AMP & CAB — Amp/cab choices that may be fighting the sound you're trying to achieve
EFFECTS — Delay, reverb, modulation or other effects that may need adjustment
NOISE & SIGNAL — Gates, unwanted noise and signal-level problems
PLAYING RESPONSE — Palm-mute definition, pick attack, sustain and dynamics

Send a 20–30 second WAV file that clearly demonstrates the problem you're hearing.
DIRECT FROM A MODELER / MULTI-FX
This is preferred. Record the processed output directly into your audio interface, DAW, or recording device. Do not add additional EQ, compression, limiting, or mastering after recording.
RECORDING A REAL AMP
A properly mic'd amp recording is welcome. Keep the microphone position fixed and avoid adding processing afterward.
PHONE RECORDINGS
Phone recordings can be useful for some problems, but room acoustics and the phone microphone can dramatically change what we hear. For the most accurate diagnosis, a direct WAV or properly mic'd recording is strongly recommended.
PLAY SOMETHING THAT EXPOSES THE PROBLEM
If your palm mutes are flubby, play palm mutes. If your leads are harsh, play lead lines. If the tone gets muddy during chords, play chords. Show us the problem.
Don't try to make the recording sound better before sending it. We need to hear the problem exactly as you hear it.
